Surrounding yourself with people who care about you makes a difference. Allowing yourself to be open, to challenge the recluse inside of you, is risky but uplifting when you pull through. This is life, afterall, and it's full of ups, downs and in-betweens. I could hole myself up in my flat and try never to put myself in danger, i can avoid all opportunities to bear my heart and never fall in love, i can attempt to be my parents' protector and change their health habits, i can monitor and control every move i make in attempt to save myself from anything that could possibly go wrong in my life, but that's not living.
Enduring the uncertainty, the difficult times, is hard but it's also a sign that we're here, alive. It means we're experiencing, and thus, growing, learning, becoming.
