chick flick
I have been on a chick flick marathon this week. I have watched Hitch, How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days, What Women Want and Notting Hill in the past five days.
Romantic comedy synopsis: The man would do something to sabotage the relationship or the woman finds out a secret about him which she inevitably misunderstands and winds up so upset that she leaves him and the city / the town / the country. If she is a high-flyer, she would quit her job. Panicked at the discovery that he is going to lose her forever, the man hunts her down at her workplace or her apartment that she shares with a roommate who informs him sympathetically that she is on her way to the airport LIKE RIGHT NOW. Losing half his mind, the man attempts to catch up with her and win her back. Initially he fails because he is much too desperate or the woman is still torn between her wounded pride and her feelings for him, but eventually he succeeds after making a complete fool of himself in the middle of the expressway.
As cliché as these movies are, together with Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby, they still make delicious company for a rainy Friday night. :)
