Two people can grow individually, yes, but it doesn't mean that the growth is parallel. The man whom i was once in love with for six years has not changed in his values and beliefs, but i have. And i have stopped incorporating him into my life choices even before he came back to Singapore. Last night, this realisation that we have become so different was a watershed moment, a moment so poignant, so electric with suddenly released emotion, that i felt drained and utterly bereft, like a vacuum.
