I've finally finished watching BBF and the dramatic ending only serves to remind me of the contrast between scripted fantasy and reality. It does not give way to hopeful feelings but instead a lingering sense of doubt and confusion. For only in Korean dramas do 4 years fly by and everything is frozen in time like a cast of cardboard cutouts, suspended and motionless like stars elegantly poised for their moments.
Or can the old adage be true - that the more things change, the more they remain the same?
