the faraway star

I have not shed any tears at all this week since last Saturday night. It's not that i felt less sad or missed him lesser but some things free us in their leaving, out of necessity or as a matter of course. After this week of prayer and spending time with God, the confusion i had lived under for so long cleared like a fog, and then i realise that the stars do look different from where i stand and where they might be standing, wherever i may be.

The world shifts in our estimation, and goodbyes do not seem so difficult after all. Nor perhaps as significant, in the greater scheme of things.
