constant change
If there is anything i've learnt all these years, it is this - the only constant thing is change. Any hiding place or fortification we crawl into or pleasure palace we build on earth will fail us, someday.
We wander from one game of desire to another, encouraged by academic or career success and pleasure, driven by fear and our growing anxiety of our future: the carrot & the stick that deny us any rest. We become obsessed with our material possessions and how others see us, and yet when faced with death, we will be willing to trade in everything for even one more week of existence.
We continue to turn towards life, bodies, and emotional highs and lows, making the same mistakes over and over, never guessing that the solution lies within our hearts, not in the manic, repetitious attempt to control the outer environment.
