i like to think

....i know who i am and what i stand for, yet sometimes, i find i'm a stranger even to myself. Under different circumstances i think and do the most unexpected things. Sometimes i've got a reason to be proud of what i turn out to be capable of.

Sometimes i don't.

And i wonder: how can something which feels so right when i'm in one frame of mind, seem so wildly inappropriate when i'm in another?

When i respond to one set of pressures in hope of alleviating stress, i cannot help but create a different set elsewhere. And then i end up feeling like a struggling juggler. Sometimes i get around this by closing my eyes and hoping for the best. I figure that if i cannot see what's going on, i can ignore it. Then again sometimes i try to observe and understand everything. And i end up tying myself in complicated, convoluted knots.

Physical strength can get me so far. Emotional strength is useful, up to a point. Financial strength is handy, but even this can't protect me from all trouble. What i need is spiritual strength. It never fails, regardless of what the world sends my way. I need to summon the right kind of inner trust on the Lord, certainty and humility.

I need faith. Just a little bit will do.
