at the edge
I don't always have confidence in the choices i make.
Circumstances can overwhelm me into leaving things to chance, letting the chips fall where they may, even as i understand this only serves to throw the tentative, fragile balance into volatile chaos. I'm often befuddled by how i feel. Like you're on the verge of something, but you don't know whether to gravitate towards it or proceed with caution, because you don't know whether it's a jump-for-joy thing or a disastrous-precipice thing?
So you sit on the cusp of whatever it is, looking around you for clues, but finding none among the obvious possibilities.
Leaving you in a state of suspended anticipation, equal parts wary and hopeful. Your heart beats a little faster, your mind wanders, restless. You clear your throat, your voice seems a little too loud so you hesitate and decide to keep quiet, wait and observe. You start typing a sms, clear it and type and your finger lingers on the send button. You write a letter but it never gets completed; you press the numbers you know by heart but you flip the phone shut soon after. Something is in the air, not quite ready to make its presence known, but near enough to unleash a tantalizing, teasing buzz within the depths of your intuition.
Lord, please show me a sign.
