hold on tight
Lately, my life has been in a constant state of flux. Yet here i stand. Life's tides ebb and flow, washing over me, or drowning me as the case may be, and here i stand. Same as i ever was. The sands of time shift beneath my feet, and i struggle to maintain an equilibrium, digging myself in solidly in the process.
Does that mean i'm standing still? Stuck?
I'm starting to see the need for a change. Of the personal sort. One i initiate, as opposed to one that happens to me when i'm not looking. One i can move with, rather than react to. A change. Of how i view everything and everyone around me, how i handle my problems and the things that i choose to occupy my mind with.
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for God who promised is faithful. -Hebrews 10:23
Some people think that stability is something that can be achieved by being as prudent as possible. If you don't rock the boat, the boat will be less inclined to rock yourself. But i beg to differ. Trouble will always find a way to trouble us, regardless of whether or not we will trouble trouble. How can i possibly try to create an island of conviction in an ocean of uncertainty? The only thing we can do is to cling on to the raft of hope that God has provided for us, no matter how small it is.
No matter what has been happening so far, i'm still grateful to God.
For He has always taught me to face my fears with faith that i could overcome them. He taught me that giving of myself when i felt least capable of doing so would make me a stronger person. He taught me what love is, and how fragile it can be, and how much more beautiful it is when you're giving it away. He taught me everything. Gentle lessons, slowly learned, ingrained in the fiber of my being.
I'm trying to hold on to those lessons now. To remember them, to live them. To be the me that God sees, though i always feel i'm falling short...
