scent

The scent of some women lingers on for a while, and the scent of some will hit you from a mile.

It's strange the perfumes woman use, some of them could actually be weapons of mass destruction. My olfactory implements have witnessed many different ones. The smart ones, the mischievious ones and the down right stinky ones. Like the 40 something woman next to me on Bus 154 today, she was clad in a PINAFORE dress or something. Sometimes Singapore's fashion trends really befundle me. But that's another entry for next time.

And i'm extremely amazed at the accumen some women have for perfume. Lets call them the "scent gurus", these people can catch a whiff and get the brand right before you can even lift up your nose. Like one of my ex-colleagues. She knows her Chanel No 5 to Kenzo. Then there are also those kinda women and men who use the "genie in a bottle" and turn it into a monster, to cover up for the lack of an early morning bath. Makes me wonder if the scent is some kind of mechanism that people use to either draw or repel people from them. Like what Animal Planet says, that scents are aphorodisical in nature and almost every animal walking on fours or two's uses them in some means or other.

But still. Yeew.

(My all-time favourite scent is of the rain that falls gently at my window. I have said that a million times in 10 years. Someone please take me seriously and capture that scent for me. And as for men, they should all wear Hugo Boss.)
