trust

Some argue that, whenever i do this, sooner or later, i'm bound to become disappointed. That is obviously true because nobody is perfect, but what other alternative do we have? Must we live under a constant cloud of suspicion all the time?

Villains wear dark hats and have nasty facial expressions. Heroes and heroines wear lighter clothes and smile more sweetly. In great classics and old movies, such caricatures are painted. Here in the real world, the distinctions are not always so easy to make. Even then, we are usually hurt by the people who matter the most to us.

It is difficult but my sanity suffers too much if i do not try. To not trust anyone is to buy a one-way ticket to emotional isolation. And isolation is stifling. It causes you to feel alone in a sea of people; it causes time to become undifferentiated, days sliding into weeks and months and years. You will fall off the face of the earth for a long time, until the day you decide to allow people into your heart again. Even if you are afraid that they might leave one day.
