Especially when it's for a wedding dinner i'm reluctant to be at because i'd rather be frostbiting people with my Crystal Maiden at that time. (But my dear discipler has already tsktsk-ed me..sooo i better be good before she puts me on rehab. Hee. Shopped around in Causeway Point and realised that Metro's clothes are so auntie, and all the salesgirls looked so 'happy' to be working there. I hightailed out of there quickly before one of them takes out a revolver and start shooting all the Aunties and mistakes me for one too.
Talked to Jon this morning and found out that he's volunteering in an old folk's home in Vancouver, working with senile elderly twice a week. So proud of you! And also since you keep bugging me on what i want for my birthday.
Here it is, so quit asking! :)
Since someone is big on practicality (like all unimaginative and uncreative men), you can get me a pair of shoes. A PAIR OKAY. Just because this picture only shows one shoe...
Anyway, i realised what somebody once said about me was pretty true. I *am* someone who is easily pleased. Or rather i find joy in many simple things. Today i discovered another thing which pleases me! Let me compile them together.
Things that please Mari:
- Reaching the bus-stop at the same time my bus does.
- Boarding the seemingly crowded bus to find that there's one last seat left. And it's a WINDOW SEAT! Yippee!
- Someone gets up from the seat nearest to me the moment i stepped into the MRT.
- Sitting in a taxi which is clean, doesn't have that 'funny smell' and plays soft music from Class95. And the taxi uncle doesn't initiate conversation and drives at 100+km/hr without you telling him to.
- A stranger offers to share his umbrella with you when he sees you caught in the rain. This restores my faith in mankind. Chivalry is not dead yet afterall.
- Waking up in the morning to find breakfast on the table. God bless my Mum.
Getting the booth table at Sakae Sushi without having to wait.
- Reaching a traffic junction at the same time the Green Man lights up, so i don't have to wait under the hot sun for the measly 3 minutes.
- Knowing that the perfect top / skirt has my size!
Okay, i realise most of them are public transport related. Haha. In the meantime, let me get back to the joyful task of completing something extremely fulfilling and inspiring otherwise known as the School Project.
Oh happy day...
