my street

(Chinese in italics)

DAD:
Hey yesterday there was this film crew in the neighbourhood today!

ME: Really? They come for what?

DAD: Haiyah! What do you do the whole day in your room and outside? You don't even know that TWENTY FOUR PEOPLE AND TWELVE BIRDS FROM OUR STREET GOT
DENGUE FEVER?

ME: Huh? *pretends to look confused*
People? Birds? What are they?

DAD: Don't try to be funny with me. Nowadays all you young people know so little about current affairs. See! Never read the newspapers. They even interviewed Pork Man (aka the butcher) yesterday. Think one of his family members got that dengue.

ME: Oh please, since when was Lian He Wan Bao actually a newspaper?

DAD: What?

ME: I said that you are absolutely right, Pa. Let me read the newspaper now. Oh good gosh.. You are right.

Wow, i didn't know my street was so happening. I mean, i knew that Jurong West St 41 was one of the dengue hotspots, but i didn't know it was that hot. I got excited and went to google for my street and GUESS WHAT!

Not only does my street breed killer mosquitoes, there is even a
UFO sighting in Jurong West!

Then i read on...

It was just a Starhub lightship.

Chey.
